Dr Roger Chung

Dr Roger Chung (Menzies Research Institute) Dr Roger Chung is a Senior Research Fellow and Member of the Menzies Research Institute, University of Tasmania. He currently holds an Australian Research Council Research Fellowship.
Dr Chung's research interest is in investigating how the brain responds to injury or disease, with particular focus upon understanding the role of non-neuronal cells (astrocytes and microglia). One particular interest of his research group is investigating the role of metallothionein proteins in neurodegenerative diseases such as motor neurone diseases, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Dr Chung leads a collaborative team including researchers across Australia, and in the UK, Estonia and Denmark.
