Professor Vincent Meininger

I have recently found out about the Deb Bailey Foundation through my collaboration with Dr Gilles Guillemin at the University of New South Wales in Australia.

This Foundation was set up as a registered charity in Australia in memory of a Sydney journalist, Deb Bailey, who died from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (the most common form of motor neuron disease) in 2001.

The lobbying work done by the Deb Bailey Foundation to try to raise both the profile of motor neuron disease / amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in corporate and governmental minds and funds for research is critical. It is wonderful to see such dedicated and motivated people supporting us, scientists and clinicians, in our permanent quest for financial support for our research. Most of the money the Foundation raises goes straight into funding research.

I fully support the Deb Bailey Foundation and thank all the volunteers for their wonderful work.
